Gye Nyame (fear nothing but God). Born and raised in Ghana, my culture has played a huge role in the kind of woman I am today. The culture, the people, the food, the vibrant colors, the energy, the strength, the various tribes, and the resilience are a few things that make Ghana so, so special. The women are incredibly powerful and strong in their own ways despite the many challenges they face. This is why I am so proud of my heritage. Adjoaessentials is a space curated by a dear friend, that celebrates the culture with their minimalistic, stylish, handmade, sustainable, and eco-friendly goods. I rarely do these but this is special. In celebration of the culture and of adjoaessentials going live today, we’re having a ✨GIVEAWAY✨ for either an Adjoa or Gye Nyame tote filled with goodies that may bring you joy. Winner gets to decide which tote they want. And if you’re not into giveaways, the one thing you can do for me, is to follow @adjoaessentials 🧡

So humbled by all the stories, the winners were chosen through a generator.

Give away includes; 🌿 Artisan chocolates made here in Australia .

Adjoa Tote: Ruby chocolate bar garnished with Australian pomegranate arils and Australian hibiscus flowers, Journal and pen
Gye Nyame tote: Rose & Pistachio bar (vegan!) Roasted and caramelised pistachio with Persian roses. Journal and pen

Winner of our Gye Nyame bag is Ama, from Belgium.

Her winning story:

“Born and raised in Europe but of Ghanaian descent. My siblings and I visited the country some years back for the first time and we never felt so much at home. The feeling is indescribable. Ghana was nothing like we imagined. It was ten thousand times better! This also led me to start a non profit organisation that teaches the authentic history of Africa through seminars called @africaourhistory . It’s time for the diaspora to know Africa for what it truly is 🔥”
