A chop bar is a traditional eatery in Ghana mostly located in Southern Ghana also known as a local eating base. Meals are served in local earthenware bowls and foods are usually eaten at the premises. Most of these bars are stocked with local beverages with few foreign drinks available. It is a cultural icon of Ghanaians, particularly among southerners, and is a favourite of the locals.

The term 'Chop' is derived from Eat in Ghanaian pidgin or cut into pieces in a local context and a bar is actually the place for gathering to eat hence Chop Bar. Chop bars mostly sell indigenous varieties of Ghanaian foods like Fufu, Banku, Konkonte, and Omotuo (Rice balls) with a variety of soups.
